The Institute of Computer Science, Foundation for Research and Technology (ICS-FORTH) is the registry which manages Greece's .gr ccTLD for Greece, as well as the internationalized TLD, .ελ.[1] FORTH-ICS registered and started operating the ccTLD in 1989.[2]
In July 4th, 2005, it became possible to register Greek character domain names.
Since December 2010, all [.gr] domain names could be digitally signed using DNSSEC technology.
