In June, 2000, an organization named XNSORG was formed by [[Cordance]] to manage Extensible Name Services, which were a predecessor to i-names. It worked to create a level of trust between people and the new data sharing networks. XNS published XNS 1.0 specifications in June, 2002, which contributed to the formation of [[XRI]] with the help of [[OASIS]].
