Rules and Restrictions
[edit | edit source]It is the registrant's responsibility, before any reservation request, to perform all appropriate verifications. In particular, they must ensure that the domain name does not infringe upon:
- a prior distinctive sign, whether it involves a trademark right, or a right related to a company name, trade name, or commercial designation; * a designation of origin, or a geographical indication;
- a personal right; or
- a copyright.
In general, the registrant must ensure that the domain name:
- does not violate public order, applicable laws, or customary practices;
- is not defamatory or racist;
- is not likely to be considered speculative or abusive.[2]
Characters
