.pe is the ccTLD for Peru. It is managed by Red Cientifica Peruana.[1]
Rules and Restrictions
editThere are no restrictions for registering a .pe domain name.[2]
Reserved Domain Names
editThe following domain names are reserved in all levels: "aso", "dnso", "icann", "internic", "pso", "alac", "gac", "iana", "afrinic", "apnic", "arin", "example", "gtld-servers", "iab", "iana", "iana-servers", "iesg", "ietf", "irte", "istf", "lacnic", "latnic", "lactad", "rfc-editor", "ripe", "root-servers" and names of Peruvian governmental bodies.
Any TLD in the IANA table and the terms "nic", "whois", "punto" and "www" are reserved in the second level.[2]
Second-level Domains
editThere are two second-level domain categories, unrestricted and restricted.
The unrestricted SLDs are ".com.pe", ".org.pe", ".net.pe" and ".nom.pe".
The restricted SLDs are ".gob.pe", ".mil.pe" and ".edu.pe".[2]
Characters
editThe valid characters for a .pe domain name are: English alphabet letters ("a-z"), digits ("0-9"), the hyphen ("-"), and the characters á, é, í, ó, ú and ñ.
The hyphen cannot be placed at the beginning or end of the domain, nor can it be used in the third and fourth positions simultaneously.
The domain name must have at least 1 character and at most 63 characters.[2]
