IGF 2016, the 11th annual IGF meeting, was held in Jalisco, Mexico.

Context

It was the first IGF meeting after the United Nations' General Assembly renewed its mandate at the WSIS +10 High Level Event in 2015.

Theme

The main theme was "Enabling Inclusive and Sustainable Growth". The forum featured dialogues and debates surrounding the following themes, among others:

• Human Rights and Freedom of Expression Online
