    STRAAT Investments is the holding company for .co Internet. It is a private investment firm that initially started to invest in residential and commercial property. Its main focus has now expanded to include telecommunications and the Internet.[1] Seeing the scope of digital estate STRAAT has also started investing in domain names and websites.

    Their most prominent investment in the domain world is in .co Internet.[2] Juan Diego Calle, the CEO of .co Internet, is also the Founder and Chairman of STRAAT Investments.[3][4] STRAAT acted as an advisor to Arcelandia S.A. and Neustar, the two organizations that applied for commercial management of the string outside Colombia, throughout the procurement process.[5] Besides this, STRAAT has invested in several hotel related domains like ParisHotels.com , NewYorkHotels.com and LondonHotels.com which are operated by Federated Travel.[6]

    STRAAT is a sponsor for .nxt conference expected to be held on 20-22 June 2012 in London.[7]

    Application for New gTLDs

    Mr. Calle confirmed that STRAAT Investments is applying to become the registry operator for 13 new generic top level domain names (gTLDs) including: .app,.book, .corp, .design, .gmbh, .group, .inc, .law, .llc, .ltd, .movie, .tech and .web. The company partnered with Neustar to provide back-end registry services.[8] [9][10]

    STRAAT Investments is also supporting DotHealth, LLC's application for the .health domain name string.[11]
