.hof is a proposed new GeoTLD in ICANN's new gTLD program. The application has government support, and is being handled by HFO Telecom.[1]
Hof is a city found in the North East of the German State of Bavaria, which also has its own gTLD initiative, .bayern (German for ".bavaria"). The city has a population of around 46,000.[2]
