    Delegation History

    [edit | edit source]

The .ps domain was first applied for in 1997, by a group of Palestinian technology professionals. This request was denied.

After a year of lobbying effort, .ps was reserved, but not granted. A UN Resolution granted full membership to Palestine in 1999. In 2000, .ps was listed in the ISO 3166 and the .ps was assigned to Palestine. On March 23, 2000 .ps became operational and gov.ps went live as the first domain to use the string.

PNINA was created in early 2003, with leaders from academia, private sector, ISOC, legal institutions, ISPs, telecom, government ministries.
