ICANN 56 is being held from June 27-30, 2016 in Helsinki, Finland at the Finlandia Hall Ltd. It is the second ICANN Meeting of 2016, which according to ICANN's new meeting strategy, will be largely policy driven. The meeting was initially scheduled to take place in Panama City, Panama in June 2016, but as a result of an outbreak of the Zika virus in Central America, ICANN announced that the meeting would move to a different country.[1] ICANN plans on returning to Panama City for a future meeting.
The conference will be Göran Marby's first ICANN conference as CEO and President.
New Meeting Schedule

As a result of the New Meeting Plan drafted by the Meeting Strategy Working Group, ICANN 56 or Meeting B, will have some distinct features. It will not feature an opening or closing ceremony, high-interest topic sessions, public forum, board meeting or sponsor exhibition booths. This four-day meeting will focus on policy, outreach and inter/intra-community work.
