it.com Domains Ltd is a UK-incorporated private company[1] that operates the it.com second-level domain and markets third-level registrations such as "example.it.com".

Italian market uptake
The Italian domain sector was the first to show significant demand for third-level "example.it.com" registrations. The company hired industry veteran Alessandro Baruffi, who leveraged his reputation to enlist several Italian registrars and resellers. it.com has since held promotional events in Italy and reports strong acceptance among local Internet-service providers.
The registry cites a "traffic-leakage" use case: visitors outside Italy often append “.com” to domains by habit, sending unintended traffic away from the intended website. By registering and redirecting the corresponding "example.it.com" name, .it holders can reclaim that misdirected traffic and avoid associated losses.[6]
