On March 7, 2018, NameSilo LLC announced that Brisio Innovations Inc., a Canadian investment company, was going to acquire all of the companies' securities. The transaction would not impact the existing operations of NameSilo and the founders, who were also the owner/operators of NameSilo and would continue in their current roles and operating the business.[5] The acquisition was completed on August 7, 2018. NameSilo's shares would then recommence trading on the Canadian Securities Exchange on August 9.[6]

In November of the same year, Brisio Innovations announced that it would change its name to "NameSilo Technologies Corp." and its trading symbol on the Canadian Securities Exchange to "URL", explicitly positioning itself as the parent company for NameSilo LLC.[7]
